Gemma Pascual

Graduated in Biology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) in 2006 and postgraduated in Management of Business Aspects of Science and Technology (Pompeu Fabra University-University of Barcelona-UAB, 2011) – Young Talent Program. She has 17 years of work experience in science management, mostly acquired in biomedical research centers. Her career has allowed her to specialize in the entire life cycle of competitive projects in the field of science and development, mainly with an international focus. She has worked at FCRB-IDIBAPS since 2012, where she is now in charge of the Instutional Actions Office responsible for: 1) managing international programs to attract talent and help develop the careers of pre- and postdoctoral researchers; 2) offer training to all researchers at the centre (Stepping-stone Programme); 3) organise training sessions of general interest (Toolbox, IDIBAPS Talks Series); and, 4) Coordinate the entire Action Plan of the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R). Throughout her career she has participated in multiple training events related to her functions but it is worth highlighting that she was selected at national level for the Manager Training Programme (CDTI) to carry out a stay in Brussels as a representative of IDIBAPS in the Spanish science and technology office (SOST) to better understand the functioning of the European Commission (2013); and she was also selected for the REMO Amabassador School in Paris (COST Action) to be able to promote better institutional practices to improve the well-being of the researcher in academia (2023).
