Sara Xapelli

Sara Xapelli is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon, and the leader of the iMM team. Her research focuses on identifying modulators of neural stem cells (NSCs) to enhance adult neurogenesis and oligodendrogenesis, aiming to facilitate brain functional repair. She seeks to further develop NSCs as therapeutic platforms to counteract brain pathologies such as Multiple Sclerosis, Epilepsy, and Major Depressive Disorder.
